Al-Kahf(The Cave)

They [i.e., people] will say there were three, the fourth of them being their dog; and they will say there were five, the sixth of them being their dog - guessing at the unseen; and they will say there were seven, and the eighth of them was their dog. Say, [O Muḥammad], "My Lord is most knowing of their number. None knows them except a few. So do not argue about them except with an obvious argument and do not inquire about them among [the speculators] from anyone."

(குகையிலிருந்த அவர்கள்) மூன்று பேர்தான்; நான்காவது அவர்களுடைய நாய் என்று (சிலரு)ம்; (அவர்கள்) ஐந்து பேர், அவர்களுடைய நாய் ஆறாவதாகும் என்று (வேறு சிலரு)ம்; மறைவான விஷயங்களைத் தாங்கள் கண்டுபிடித்து விட்டவர்களைப் போல் (மிக்க உறுதியாகக்) கூறுகின்றனர். மற்றும் சிலரோ அவர்கள் ஏழு பேர், எட்டாவது அவர்களுடைய நாய் என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். எனினும் (நபியே!) ‘‘அவர்களுடைய எண்ணிக்கையை சிலரைத் தவிர மற்றவர்கள் அறிய மாட்டார்கள். அவர்களுடைய எண்ணிக்கையை என் இறைவன்தான் நன்கறிவான்'' என்று கூறுவீராக. இன்னும், அவர்களைப் பற்றி மேலெழுந்த வாரியாகவே தவிர தர்க்கிக்காதீர். அவர்களைப் பற்றி இவர்களில் ஒருவனிடமும் (ஒன்றுமே) கேட்காதீர்.''
