Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. Read about how we handle data to provide you with a safe, calm, and secure environment to study the Quran.

1. Information We Do Not Collect
The Holy Quran is an open-source, non-profit platform built for the community. We are fundamentally committed to privacy.
- •No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or submit personal information to read or listen to the Quran.
- •No Advertising Tracking: This platform is completely ad-free. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell your data to any data brokers.
2. Local Storage & Preferences
To provide a seamless and personalized experience, we use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences. This data never leaves your device.
- •Reading Preferences: Settings such as translation languages, font sizes, themes (dark/light mode), and preferred reciters are stored locally on your device.
- •Bookmarks: Ayahs you bookmark are saved in your local browser storage. Clearing your browser data will clear these bookmarks.
3. Third-Party APIs
To serve accurate Quranic text, translations, prayer times, and community features, we rely on the following third-party APIs:
- •Quran.com API: Used to fetch Quran verses, translations, and audio files.
- •Aladhan API: Used to determine accurate prayer times based on your location (if you grant location permissions).
- •Firebase / Google APIs: Used for database hosting (for community features like posts and discussions) and AI integrations.
4. Community Features and Public Data
If you choose to participate in our Community Forums (e.g., Islamic Q&A, Quran Reflections), the content you submit (text, tags) is stored in our database and will be publicly visible to other users. Please exercise caution and do not share private or sensitive information in these public spaces.
5. Analytics
We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics (such as Vercel Web Analytics or anonymous Google Analytics) to understand aggregated traffic patterns (e.g., how many people visit the site daily). This helps us scale our servers to accommodate traffic, especially during Ramadan. These services do not track you individually across other websites.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
