Al-Baqarah(The Cow)

And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - they, [the wives, shall] wait four months and ten [days]. And when they have fulfilled their term, then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable manner. And Allāh is [fully] Aware of what you do.

உங்களில் எவரேனும் மனைவிகளை விட்டு இறந்தால், (அம்)மனைவிகள் நான்கு மாதம் பத்து நாட்கள் (இத்தா முடிவதை) எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கவும். (இதற்கு ‘மரண இத்தா' என்று பெயர்.) ஆதலால், அவர்கள் தங்கள் (இத்தாவின்) தவணையை முடித்து விட்டால் (அவர்களில் மறுமணம் செய்ய விருப்பமுள்ளவர்கள்) தங்களை ஒழுங்கான முறையில் (அலங்காரம்) ஏதும் செய்து கொள்வதைப் பற்றி குற்றமில்லை. நீங்கள் செய்வதை அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிவான்.
