As Samad (الصَّمَدُ) is one of the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah (Asma ul Husna). It translates to “The Supreme Provider” in English and “தேவையற்றவன்” in Tamil (தமிழ்).
Is the One to whom we can rely for any business and who can be called upon for all our needs; One who has no children or parents, neither like nor equivalent, according to Al-Hakim's explanation; The One who needs nothing and the One who everything needs, in order to exist, etc.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Allah has ninety-nine names — whoever memorizes them will enter Paradise.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2736)
