👶 Before Modern Microscopes...

How did people know how a baby develops inside the womb?

The Quran says:

"We created man from an extract of clay. Then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a secure place. Then We made the drop into a clinging substance, then We made the clinging substance into a lump..."
(Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:12–14)

Today, modern embryology describes human development through a series of stages from fertilization to embryo and fetus. Many Muslims see the Quran's description as an invitation to reflect on the miracle of human creation. Scientists and scholars, however, differ on how closely these verses should be interpreted as scientific descriptions rather than spiritual guidance.
