Because we suffer from an illusion of permanent ownership. We say: "This is MY house," "This is MY car," "This is MY money."
Imam Al-Ghazali gave a brilliant illustration: Imagine a traveler staying in a hotel room for two nights. The traveler decorates the room, buys furniture for it, and screams at the hotel manager: "This is my room! You cannot touch anything!"
Everyone would laugh at the traveler. Why? Because the room belongs to the hotel owner, and the traveler is leaving in two days!
This Dunya is just a temporary hotel room. Al-Warith is the true Owner of the hotel. Everything you hold right now — your body, health, money, degrees, children — is a temporary loan that will return to Al-Warith.

When you internalize that Allah is Al-Warith:
A. Giving Zakah and Sadaqah Becomes Easy
Why do people hesitate to give charity? Because they feel: "I worked hard for MY money; why should I give it away?"
When you know Al-Warith, you realize: "This isn't my money in the absolute sense. Al-Warith gave it to me as a test, and it will return to Him anyway. Let me send it ahead to my Jannah account before I die!"
B. You Focus on Spiritual Legacy Over Material Legacy
Most people spend 60 years building a material legacy (houses, companies, bank accounts) for heirs who might squander it in 5 years.
A believer focuses on a spiritual legacy — teaching Quran, raising righteous children, building mosques, planting trees, and spreading beneficial knowledge. That spiritual legacy is preserved directly by Al-Warith!
The Prophet ﷺ said:
