Campaign Story
Al Noor Village still relies on an unreliable borewell and long walking distances for safe water. The local committee, mosque trustees, and village elders jointly verified the request and approved the placement of a water tank and filtration system near the central road.
The village of approximately 600 people has been struggling with water quality issues for over a decade. The existing borewell runs dry during summer months, forcing women and children to walk up to 2 kilometers to the nearest reliable water source.
The proposed solution involves installing a 10,000-litre overhead tank with a 3-stage filtration system and a solar-powered pump. The village committee has obtained quotes from three vendors and selected the most cost-effective option.
This is a sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) project — the water supply will benefit the community for years to come. The committee has committed to maintaining the system and has set aside a small maintenance fund from local contributions.
